Tips for Placement, Use, and Care
How to Use Your Cork Helping Hands
Your Lotus NoSlip Helping Hands cork adhesives have arrived — you're just a few steps away from a steadier, slip-free practice!
Step 1: Prep Your Mat
- Start with a clean, dry surface to ensure proper adhesion.
Use mild dish soap and water to wash your mat, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely. - Using a Manduka PRO? Do a light salt scrub before application to improve grip. (Only recommended for Manduka PRO mats—avoid this on other surfaces. See our care guide for more.)
Step 2: Find Your Perfect Placement
Lay face down on your mat and move into Cobra or pause in Chaturanga during a Sun Salutation.
Take note of where your hands naturally land — that’s where your Helping Hands should go.
Step 3: Stick With It
Peel off the adhesive backing and place each Cork Helping Hand where your hands were during the pose.
Press firmly and smooth out any air bubbles to ensure full contact.
Step 4: Flow It In
Help the adhesive set by doing a few Sun Salutations or a short practice right after placement.
Care Tips
Before Each Practice:
- Avoid oils and lotions on your hands or arms — they can reduce the cork’s natural grip and shorten product life.
- Wash your hands and forearms with soap and water before use.
After Each Practice:
- Blot away excess moisture or sweat using a clean, dry towel.
- When rolling up your mat, keep the Cork Helping Hands on the outer end to allow proper air drying and prevent mold or mildew.
Cleaning the Cork:
- If needed, dab the cork with a sponge, warm water, and a bit of dish soap.
- Let it dry completely before rolling up your mat.
